Let ‘Em Know You’re There: The Story of Big Jim and The Triple Double Onondaga Historical Association
Manlius Cinema
135 E. Seneca St.,
Manlius
A short (25-minute) documentary about Jim Tucker, a former NBA player who has held the record for fastest triple-double for the past 60 years, featuring animation that depicts a vibrant, unforgettable evening in Madison Square Garden in the 1950s. The film uses Jim's record as a lens into a remarkable life outside of basketball. Long-time Syracuse columnist and author, Sean Kirst, will join us in conversation with filmmaker Field Humphrey and Jim Tucker's grandson, Bernie Snow, and moderate a talk-back Q&A with the audience. Sean will also be on hand prior to the screening at neighboring Of Moose and Mind bookshop to sign his book Moonfixer: The Basketball Journey of Earl Lloyd. Part of the "Strides Toward Democracy" film series.
